Taking the tram from the Bielska stop, the furthest one could get off was at the Railway Station stop. Architect Anton Dachler designed this station building with a brick façade in two shades of brick red and sand yellow as a representative gateway to the town. A similarly designed station building was built at the same time in nearby Bielsko. The Cieszyn station was opened in 1889 has served passengers to this day.
Opposite the station, a Representative House was erected between 1928 and 1931 on the initiative of the Polish Savings and Loans Association. The building was designed in the spirit of new classicism by Eduard David and housed Polish associations and institutions, including the “Polonia” hotel (today’s “Piast” hotel).
