Cieszyn filigree is a unique technique for making traditional jewellery. It has been known in the Cieszyn Silesia region since the 18th century. Filigree is an extremely labour-intensive and intricate craft, requiring great precision, patience and artistic flair. Combining thin individual wires and arranging them in openwork geometric patterns is a real art! Today, only a few goldsmiths are still practising this art. So it's worth visiting the Pieczonka goldsmith's workshop in Cieszyn – there we can still see how such unique works of art are made.
