The construction of the representative building - the headquarters of the Central Bank of the German Savings Banks on the corner of Główna and Dworcowa streets - was carried out by the firm of Eugen Fulda in the years 1929 -1930. The building, designed by the Cieszyn architect Karl Reinhart from Vienna, had a reinforced concrete frame structure with a glazed ground floor clad in artificial stone. Apart from the bank, the building housed shops selling shoes, clothes, toys and colonial goods, as well as a pharmacy, tailor's shop, sewing room, law office and a dentist's surgery.
